Well here we go with a hard to find decorated stoneware crock from STRASBURG, VA. Marked J. M. HICKERSON, 1 GAL. STRASBURG,VA. in a circle with a star. Has 3 blue swirl, or some call them flower, decorations around the crock. Stands 9" tall, and 6 & 1/2" in diameter. Please look at the pictures, and enlarge them to see the condition of this nice crock, made by a known Virginia stoneware maker. Has 3 tiny chip areas on the top area of the lip. It also has, unfortunately, a small crack that runs from the lip area down to the top of one of the blue flower decorations. It is running from what looks to be a flaw on the lip that is a makers defect. It does not go thru to the inside. It does seem to be stable. There is no loss area around the crack. Again, please look at pictures to see condition. Still a nice desirable crock, and displays very nicely. Would easely be a $250 crock, if it did not have the crack, which is hard to see and notice. Shipping on the east coast will be USPS Priority Mail. Midwest and western states I can send economy mail. We try and ship out in 2 to 3 business days after auction ends and payment is made. Please look at my other auctions for more, interesting, and unusual items, as we try and list items suited to many different tastes. Thanks for looking, David.
