Antique covered thin wood pantry box with it's original lid, steam bent hardwood sides and lid rim, pine wood top & bottom and steel tack construction, with it's large original old printed paper label pasted on the exterior top reading "CONCORD GRAPE PUT UP BY A. BIGELOW, SHERBORN, MASS" and retaining in it's original old & dry natural wood surface, as found. New England , probably Boston area, 1880's, possibly earlier. Guaranteed old and original; this is not a fake or reproduction. Actual weight 3/4 lbs. 7 1/2" full outer lid diameter by 7 1/8" full base diameter by 3 1/2" tall. BIGELOW, SHERBORN, MASS" and retaining in it's original old & dry natural wood surface, as found. This is a subtle old pantry box right out of the summer kitchen. Very clean on the inside, the box was set aside to hold something but was never used. This is because two of the bottom steel tacks are missing and the bottom board is loose. It just sat on the shelf t for 100 years. The box itself is a thin wood type pantry box; the type used for selling commercial content, not one made on the farm to read more
