Offered in this auction is an antique Stereo Viewer in very good condition. On the bottom is the following: "Warranted - Underwood and Underwood - Manufactures New York - Patent Applied For". On the metal part of the handle is the following: "Pat'd June 14th, 1881". Nineteen of the stereo view cards were photographed by George E. Gould, a photographer residing in Pleasanton, Ca. Right after the 1906 earthquake in San Francisco, he photographed the crumbled buildings, the large cracks in the streets, buildings destroyed by fires, leaning buildings, people standing around in shock, etc. Photos were taken of the Fairmont Hotel, a refugee camp in Alamo Park, The Great City Hall, Houses on Howard Street, The Emporium, etc. There are some stereo view cards that do not have location information on them. One stereo view card in this collection was the work of H.C. White and that makes the 20th stereo view card. This auction is for the USA only. Payment is expected within four days of close of auction. Ask any questions that you might have prior to bidding. Thanks for looking at our auction.
