I bought a lot of GSA softpack coins back when I was actively collecting. Most of them came with the blue presentation pouch, and some of them had an original card or two. Very few though had the original mailing envelope. This auction has it all!!! As many of you know, the GSA separately dollars that were worn, scratched, damaged, or otherwise not deemed uncirculated and placed them in what they called the Mixed Circulated Category and offered them at a minimum bid of $3.00 each. Many mistakes were made and many uncirculated Morgans Dollars made their way into this category. The sorting ladies obviously got this one right. It’s circulated piece and actually has a hint of toning on the obverse. Sorry for the lousy photo of the obverse. I tried several time but just couldn’t get a decent picture. Having said that, you know what you’re getting….a circulated 1884 Morgan Dollar in a GSA Softpack. This auction includes not only the circulated 1883 Morgan Dollar, but also the two pristine presentation cards that came with the coin, a pristine blue presentation envelope AND the original mailing envelope. The mailing label is still in place and legible though I covered the original owner's name to protect his identity on the internet. The mailing envelope is postmarked in October of 1973.
