1886 GAR Gettysburg Dedication of Monuments Medal w SuspenderWhite Metal, 37.9mm, holed for suspension, includes Original bronze Eagle suspender (detached). 1886 Grand Army of the Republic Veteran's Medal, G.A.R. Encampment, Gettysburg, PA, July 1886. Struck to commemorate the erection of monuments, and presented to surviving veterans of the Battle of Gettysburg on that occasion. These are somewhat scarce intact with the suspender. Although this suspender is detached, it is original to the piece, and a jump ring is all that's needed to bring the two pieces back together.
