1888 N19 Allen & Ginter "Pirates of the Spanish Main" Near Set (41/50). Allen & Ginter's "Pirates of the Spanish Main" edition is by far one of the most popular tobacco insert card releases of the late 20th Century. It must be the dignified white background and finely detailed portraits of the pirates that sailed and terrorized the Caribbean... or it could be the scenes of dead bodies, sword fights, executions, canon blasts, whippings and general debauchery that made pirate life so enticing. Although not complete this is a largely consistent grade gallery of this immensely sought after series. Six cards have been graded by PSA. Includes: Graded - PSA NM-MT 8: 1 card, #30 Captain Worley; PSA NM 7: 1 card, #12 Sawkins; PSA EX-MT+ 6.5: 1 card, #44 Thomas Anstis; PSA EX-MT 6: 3 cards, #'s 22 Captain Halsey, 29 Van Horn and 40 Pierre Picard. Grades 5% NM to NM/MT, 73% EX to EX/MT, 22% VG to VG/EX. Grade: 0, Service: Appraised, Service No.: 2214521
