An estate sale find t his is a stunning Antique Gloekler Co butcher meat wall rack. C irca 1889, Bernard Gloekler Co. of Pittsburgh, Pa, meat rack construction of wrought and cast iron. An arched bar with scrolled ends having 6 wrought meat hooks; all suspended by a figural hanger formed by replicas of meat cutter's tools including a saw, a cleaver, a butcher's knife, scroll work of cast sausage and a cast bull finial. This is only the second Gloekler rack I have seen with this sausage scrolling leading me to believe it is one of the first of this production line. The bull final has a small crack at the threaded base of the casting and appears to have some cold process repair (no welding) I have shown the bull final unscrewed from the base as it will be when shipped. A wonderful 120 year old advertising piece of decorative art.
