Antique nd [ca1890] R.S. Peale Co 's quarto sized edition of a exquisitely illustrated family Holy Family Bible . The leather covers have vibrant gold stamping. The Bible also has many gorgeous and beautiful illustrations to enjoy. As per the title page: "The Pronouncing Edition of the Holy Bible containing the Authorized and Revised Versions of the Old and New Testaments arranged in Parallel Columns, giving the correct pronunciation of every Scripture proper name contained in the Bible by Prof. S.W. Williams; Complete Concordance: marginal references; chronological tables; a history of ancient Biblical manuscripts, with fac-similes of the same; the earliest printed editions of the Bible; a history of the revision of the Bible etc." Incredibly UNUSED condition, with no writing anyw, not even on the family register. Interesting that it includes a Temperance pledge page, as well unused. Over 1,300 pages, plus many pages of appendices, glossaries, etc. Weighs 13 pounds. Only damage is the cracking of the front hinge and some bumped corners and shelfwear. Pages inside are overall slightly yellowed, to be expected with a Bible of this age, but no stains or foxing.
