UP for auction is a great old Double Saddle/ Navajo Childs Wearing blanket (you be the judge). It is made of hand spun Merino wool both weft and warp on the Navajo Nation around 1890. You don't see many of these old Blankets for sale as they are bought up very fast and � put in high end collections and in museums. This blanket is 35 inches wide by 57 inches long. Look at the great old transitional pattern of this piece. The blanket has not been cleaned but is in very very good condition. Take note of the braiding done on the selvages. This was done in � early weavings and helps date the blanket just a very rare feature. This blanket has 2 two ply selvage cords on both the weft and warp ends that are in great shape with no breaks and no repairs. It has a weft to warp count of 16 to 5. There is some very light red dye bleed in one section it wont show up in pictures and is very hard to see and is only mentioned to be 100% accurate, no moth damage, no repairs, and all four corners are in excellent condition with � tassel intact. Its close to mint condition free of repairs or damage. � The colors in this blanket are red, natural white, and brown.
