Has dark spots (ink stains?) on front and rear covers. Edges of covers are rubbed to boards. Spine has some small holes and a 2 inch long tear where it meets the front hinge. Headcap/foot of spine are frayed, chipped. The inner hinges are nearly fully open. Cords showing. Text is toned. Page 9 has a 2 1/2 inch long tear at upper edge of page. Page 37 has a rectangular section of browning from where a newspaper clipping had been laid in loosely.A fascinating look at the world over 125 years ago. Oklahoma was still known at the "Indian Territory." There is not a separate map for this section, but it is on the same double-page sheets for Texas. This is one of the first maps to show Montana as a state . It was admitted to the Union on November 8, 1889 , and this book was printed the next year.
