8 Volume set of Cassell's History of Britain 1890 Volume 1 From the Roman Invasion to the wars of the roses. Volume 2 From the wars of the roses to the Great Rebellion. Volume 3 From the Great Rebellion to the Fall of Marlborough. Volume 4 From the Fall of Marlborough to the Peninsular War. Volume 5 From the Peninsular War to the Death of Sir Robert Peel. Volume 6 From the Death of Sir Robert Peel to the Illness of the Prince of Wales. Volume 7 From the Illness of the Prince of Wales to the British Occupancy of Egypt. Volume 8 From the British Operation of Egypt to the Opening of Parliament 1895. This set is bound in half calf leather, morocco leather spine label with gilt title, gilt raised bands, marbled end papers and end papers. Condition - Overall good. Bindings remain tight although slightly faded to the spines. All pages intact some very minor damage to the leather corner points. Volume VIII the leather spine is lifting away and needs re-sticking. Volume VII small cut in the leather; fronts of all volumes show age related light staining and wear. Pages are mostly bright and clear of foxing with all pages present.
