Household Stories from the Collection of The Bros Grimm, translated from the German by Lucy Crane. Illustrated by Walter Crane. Published by Syndicate Trading Co. No date but probably 1890s. 269 pages. Brown cloth boards have ornate black stamping on front and spine. Spine also has gilt. The corners are bumped, but with only light wear. The spine ends are worn through at the points. There is what looks like a horizontal crease on rear cover, but it is only a wrinkle in the cloth. Front has a pale spot in gutter and general light spotting. Hinges are intact and binding is tight, with one slight signature separations. No broken strings in the binding and no loose or loosening pages. Previous owner name is written on ffep. Pages are very toned. The first four leaves have a short tear at bottom along spine. Every story has an illustrated headpiece and tailpiece and many have ornamented initials. Overall Condition is Very Good All my books are as described.
