This is a 1890's Sterling Silver Ketcham & McDougall 14k Embroidery Gold Band Thimble. In the apex (inside top) is the symbol for Ketcham & McDougall. It is a large K with a small m and d on the sides. Below it is stamped STERLING. The band has a raised embroidery scroll. T is a space for engraving. To the side is the size 6, and stamped 14K. I have a picture of it below. The raised scroll thimbles were so popular that the company introduced a new embroidery thmble with a scroll pattern, advertised as 'heavy silver overlaid with 14 karat gold', beautifully handchased, made especially for embroidery and fancy work. It was one of the most expensive thimbles produced by Ketcham & McDougall. Everyone needs one of these thimbles in their collections. T are no holes and it is in round. It is 3/4" tall and the diameter of the opening is 9/16". The only thing I ask of the internationally bidders is that they please speak English and can communicate with me. I only speak English.
