You are bidding on one RARE, Circa 1890's, Victorian Hand Beaded, Glass Beads, Evening Purse made by the women of Mohawk Tribe in upstate New York. The a Mohawk women created beautiful beaded items and sold the pieces to Tourist visiting the Niagara Falls Region of New York State & Canada.. This beautiful little evening purse features the different techniques of bead work that the Mohawk women were known for. Please notice the layering of beads which gives the three dimensional shape to the flower, flower bud, and leaves. The purse has a beaded strap which measures approximately 6.25 inches long. The front of the purse has a tiny spot of damage to the oil cloth..near the latch closure..see close up photo. The purse measures 4 inches tall from the top of the purse to the bottom of the dangling beads, and 4.75 inches wide. The purse has 99.99% of the original bead work intact.
