Half-leather. xx + 1 + [22] + 1 + 404 pp. Colored tipped in frontispiece illustration (chromolithograph) + 20 full page illustrations (photogravures and 8 actual photographs) + 19 illustrations in text +3 folding colored maps. Appendix. Index. Very good. Beautifully professionally rebound in half calf with leather labels, tooling and raised bands. New endpapers. Blind stamp to first and couple of internal pages; otherwise unmarked. Occasional very light soiling/spotting but generally very good internally; clean and tight. Minor tears/corner chipping to couple pages. The map at the end split into two parts, taped but complete and generally good or better. Nice copy. Extremely scarce in any condition. Classic mountaineering work by Hans Meyer , the first European to ascend the summit of Kilimanjaro.
