a really Super "Indian Wars" knife --antler handle that has turned black from age --5 iron pins in handle --blade is about 7" and somewhat pitted overall --old note on blade says :" found in wood pile after dec. battle at wounded knee --lost by sioux -- jan. 1892 --cpl. h.johnson " --the December 1891 massacre at Wounded Knee was the last encounter of the "Indian Wars" --about 250 Sioux were killed for no apparent reason --a bad day in our history. !!!! a collector from Omaha had this at the Colo. Collectors Show for a fairly steep price. I made him an offer on Sun., and as I was packing up to leave, he came by and took my offer. said he didnt have a good show. sorry for his bad weekend, but mine was Super. anyway, this is a really Great battlefield knife. !!!!!
