Vintage circa 1892 7" x 9" Albumen Photograph THE OLDEST SYNAGOGUE IN EUROPE Prague REAL TITLE: SUB TITLE: Vintage circa 1892 albumen photograph of the Staronová synagóga or Altenusynagoge in Prague in the Czech Republic, the oldest surviving synagogue in Europe, dating from the 13th century. During Kristallnacht on November 9-10, 1938, the Nazis in Germany and Austria destroyed or significantly damaged over 1,500 synagogues, included many of the greatest synagogues in Europe. Many were also destroyed or fell into disrepair during the Nazis' subsequent conquest of Europe.
