I have for sale a souvenir 50th anniversary medal for the German Artillery of Charleston, S.C. This medal looks to be copper?, it is 1 1/2 inch in diameter and in XF to AU condition but it has a spot on the obverse & reverse. The obverse around the rim reads SEMI-CENTENNIAL GERMAN ARTILLERY - CHARLESTON, S.C. In the center it shows a soldier with a flag and on the flag it reads GERMAN - ARTILLERY - 1842-1892. It also shows a cannon, cannon balls, shield, eagle & tree. The reverse reads ENTERED - ACTIVE SERVICE - DEC, 27, 1860 - SURRENDERED WITH - CONFEDERATE ARMY - AT HILLSBORO, N.C. - MAY, 1865.
