WEDGWOOD COMMEMORATIVE PLATE 1893 WORLD'S COLUMBIAN EXPOSITIION CHICAGO WORLD'S FAIR This commemorative plate depicts the Administrative Building which was the centerpiece of the complex of Beaux Arts Buildings put up for the Fair. The 8.25 inch plate has an attractive border that is vaguely Japanese tinged in its decoration, as was very much a part of the Art Nouveau movement for which this Fair was a major impetus. The primary illustration also shows three people -- two women with a parasol -- and the detail on the building is rather remarkable. The plate is in good condition, with a few imperfections, which I have made a point of showing close-up in the photographs. The generally attractive craquelature is a bit more pronounced by the right side, if one looks closely. T is a brown spot to the flag's right. T are three tiny cracks on the bottom's rim. I show the worst one in close up. None of these are visible on the front or when the plate is displayed. I offer this very special commemorative plate without reserve at a very reasonable starting price. I expect to have a few world exposition books for sale in the next few days, so do check my other listings coming up. Insurance is required on shipping. Otherwise, I am most flexible about method of shipping -- UPS, USPS, FEDEX, etc. are all fine. Cashier's check or money order read more
