Kate Sanborn, a New England humorist and teacher at Smith College, gives advice in this volume to tourists who are planning a rail trip to Southern California. Tips include recommendations for one’s wardrobe and suggestions as to where to go. She writes of her experiences in Coronado Beach, San Diego, Los Angeles, Pasadena, Mount Wilson, San Bernardino, Riverside, and Santa Barbara.
