1895 Dana Willard Stockbridge (1881-1922), Massachusetts Artist Arctic Ship Poem, Illustrated Book Original book with watercolor, pen and ink drawings by Dana W. Stockbridge who illustrates the poem, The Derelict, by Herbert Bashford. 12" x 9" light card stock, bound string. 14pp with 7pp each art and text. The cover is signed by Stockbridge. A note below in what appears to be different hand reads, "Drawn about 1895-1900." The Derelict - excerpts "I am rolled and swung, I am rocked and flung, I hammered and heaved and hurled... And battered about the world." ____ "With never a care through foul or fa I follow the foamy seas." _____ "Past unknown isles, for miles and miles, I wander away...to where... The iceberg lifts and the salt spray drifts In the freezing Arctic air." Condition: VG overall with some areas of discoloration, toning; light soiling. Original item.
