Up for auction is an attractive antique edition of German folktales, entitled THE LEGENDS OF THE RHINE , by H.A. Guerber. Published by A.S. Barnes & Company in New York in 1895. 350 pages. A richly illustrated collection of German folklore, which is presented by city and region. Almost every city in Germany (or what was then Germany) is given its own folktale, collection and written by Guerber. Great full-page illustrations throughout, including both artwork and photographs. A FIRST EDITION of this collection, bound in green cloth with silver and black decoration of woman sitting on rocks by the seaside, playing a harp. In VERY GOOD condition overall.
