1895 Norwich Corners, Herkimer County, New York, DPO cover sent June 6, through Utica (transit backstamp), to Carbondale, Pennsylvania, received June 7 (incomplete backstamp), franked by 2¢ Washington Bureau Issue, Type I (#250 or #265), cancelled by “U.S. Mail” killer (Cole #US-129A) and county postmark. The Norwich Corners post office was in operation for only 20 years from 1881 to 1901 when mail service was moved to Sauquoit in Oneida County . Helbock rating of 5. Condition is very clean, slit open at right.
