You are bidding on an EARLY (CIRCA 1897 SALOON USED & EXTREMELY RARE (PER ORIGINAL OWNER), UNUSUAL MULITPLE PICTORIAL LARGE old "good for" style trade token which amazing says on reverse side " U (CAN..oil can pictorial) BET (YOUR....urn pictorial) 2 1/2C IN TRADE (ASS DONKEY PICTORIAL) I AM " and other side proclaims " THE OFFICE (SALOON) O.G. GLEICHMANN, PROP. 114 W. STATE ST. -- RUA (ARE YOU A) (BUFFALO PICTORIAL) ", which was located in town of ROCKFORDTHIS IS ONE AMAZING TOKEN....FULLY OF "PLAY ON WORDS" AND HAS 4 PICTORIALS....WHICH INCLUDE A JACKASS OR DONKEY, DETAILED BUFFALO (TATANKA), AND OIL CAN, AND AN URN....JUST SO BLOODY COOL.THIS WAS USED AT A DOCUMENTED SALOON AROUND 1897, AND BELIEVE IT IS UNLISTED RARE, WITH NO PICTURE ON THE TOKEN WEBSITE.T his is a neat old token, and believe a tough to find merchant variety. Came out of a collection of Illinois merchant tokens bought years ago, watch for future listingsTrade token is aluminum metal, round, about 35mm in diameter (just a bit smaller than silver dollar) ,and it displays nicely.
