MCKINLEY SMYRNA ARMENIANS TRANSCAUCASIA Title : World Alive Author : Robert Dunn Year : 1958 Publisher : Robert Hale Pages : 192 Size (Approx) : 9x6 inches (22x15 cms) Comments : The memoirs of Bobby Dunn,US Naval Intelligence officer and mountaineer,among many other things.Includes his experiences in the Klondike in 1898 and the Cook Expedition to Mt. McKinley in 1903.The book also features his service in the Caucasus around the time of WW1 and the surrounding area during WW2. Has signed letter from the author attached to the rear endpaper.Also has a relevant newspaper clipping and am not sure if the tipped-in frontis photo is peculiar to this copy.There is also a small cutting on Bobby Dunn taped to the inner rear cover. The book comes from the library of British diplomat,and friend of the author,Sir Denis Wright.Sir Denis was the UK's Consul at Trebizond during WW2,and this was probably where the two men met for the first time.Some of the book's introductory pages are shown below,excluding the contents page,as it gives no indication of the subject matter for the individual chapters. Condition :- Book : In good condition,with light wear.Has Sir Denis's pencil notes/comments at the front(see photos).There is a further notation on the title page and a couple in the text.
