1898 Antique WOOD/IRON HAND WIRE/BARBED WIRE CUTTER Extended ReachThanks for checking our auction! Item: Wire/barbed wire cutter Manufacturer: Unknown, Millers Falls Mass., U.S.A. Description: Wonderful primitive cast iron extended reach wire cutter or barbed wire cutter with wooden handle. Wire is cut by a handle that pushes outwards and is reset each time. The flat cutter handle retracts into the round cast iron handle. There is a short wooden handle with a metal “round” at the end. As far as I can tell it is working “as advertised.” Color: Iron/wood Size: Overall length is 20”. Extended length is 25.5”. Round cast iron handle is 8”. The wooden handle is 4” with a metal “round” on the end. Marks: M.F. Co. Pat’ Oct 25 1898; Millers Falls, Mass U.S.A. Date: Patented Oct. 25, 1898 Condition: Very nice and primitive.
