Moody Moody Press 153 Institute Place Chicago 1898 Being offered at auction is a precious vintage collection of Moody’s Anecdotes and Illustrations. 1 st edition, issued the year before the great evangelist’s death. A spiritual treasure trove! Moody was renown for his gift of incorporating humble tales into his sermons that deeply touched the common man. Simple but profound. This collection was evidently culled from some of sermons he had preached to the masses over the years of his evangelistic campaigns. CONDITION: Soft cover in original pictorial dark green wraps. Moody is depicted on the front cover standing at a pulpit and holding up his hand as in a gesture typical of preaching. 4 ¾” x 6 ¾” tall. 126 pp. plus topical index. Front wrap has a small piece of lower corner missing and tiny tear on edge. Spine has call numbers in white and shows a small chip on foot and upper front edge. Rear wrap small pieces chipped at corner points. Pages age toned and a bit more to the margins. A couple of page have tips bent, but easily straightened. Covers and all pages very tight.
