Offered are 7 original cabinet photos all found together showing 1898 scenes in Cuba of the Kent Signal Corps during the Spanish-American War. Each photo measures 2 1/8" by 3 1/8" on mounting board 4" by 5". Mounting boards have a slight curvature to each and photos have lost some contrast over time. Three are marked on back: Kent Signal Corps and Signal Corps Mess Tent shown in one image below and dated 98. The other 4 have no information on backs. In a list of expenditures on the island of Cuba presented by the War Department in 1900 to the U. S. Senate under "Barracks and Quarters" on page 166 is listed the Kent Signal Corps and is the only mention of this unit found in research. Shown in one photo is a ship marked Orizaba of New York. The Orizaba was chartered by the U.S. from the New York & Cuba Mail Service Co. on May 10, 1898 and returned September 17, 1898. Transported on the Orizaba for invasion of Cuba were the 2nd Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, the 22nd U. S. Infantry from Tampa and the 4th U. S. Artillery, Batteries B & C. Southernhighway logo is not on actual photos. Shipped first class mail with delivery confirmation included at 2.75 in US. Thanks.
