ESTATE 18K WHITE GOLD NATURAL SAPPHIRE & DIAMOND ETERNITY RING / BAND This beautiful antique 18K (tested) white gold eternity band bears 20 natural sapphires (est. .60 cttw) and 10 bright white diamonds (.30 cttw). All of the stones are princess cut and channel set in a pattern of 4 sapphires: 2 diamonds. The band is 3 mm wide and sits 2.5 mm high. Both sides of the ring are hand-engraved with an exceptionally detailed foliate pattern. The engraving is sharp and contains no aberrations. The ring weighs 2.26 grams and is size 7.The ring is in excellent condition for its age. I recently had my jeweler confirm the gold content and check the security of the stones. They are all very secure and bear only the slightest sign of wear, which is exceptional for its age. We noted an interesting point- one sapphire is considerably wider (almost 2x) than all of the others and this is certainly related to the ring's original construction. To balance the sequence of stones, and still hit the desired circumference, one sapphire had to be larger than the rest. The little opening on the inside of the ring is also slightly larger behind that stone, and I have tried to picture this in the last photos. The ring cannot be re-sized without a major undertaking.
