Hello, today i am selling this rare likely 17-18th c KANGXI Ming style Xuande ewer REVIVED IN THE KANGXI PERIOD - I have included an image of a similar Yongle ewer ( same flower and stem/leave pattern) which is housed at the British museum- the curator of that museum (i will add his notes which are important ) makes reference to this ewer as a continuation of the yongle ewer into the xuande period - my ewer being of the xuande styleThe British museum ewer sold for near $2,000,000 several years ago- My ewer is in excellent condition aside from the oxidizing and puddling of the cobalt blue which occurs over long periods of time CENTURIES I have included several better photos - you will see a few spots where the cobalt blue is pooling and has oxidized thru to surface on lid and top of handle- this takes hundreds of years to occur small blue specks of unground cobalt consistent with pre 18th century production cobalt iron deposits specks have come to surface in several spots- taking hundreds of years to occur as well glazing is effused with tiny bubbles as it should be there are no cracks or chips - condition is excellent-all blue designs and writing are hand painted- and quite fluent AND JUST GOOGLE XUANDE OR YONGLE EWER IN GENERAL - YOU WILL FIND ONLY A HANDFUL AT AUCTION OR IN MUSEUMS FROM THE MING PERIOD AND THEY SELL FOR HUNDREDS read more
