An original 18th century copper with wrought iron handle and rim fur trade kettle which measures 12" tall and has a diameter which ranges from 13" at the base to 17" at the top rim. This is the type of kettle which was traded in the 18th century by the fur companies (Hudson Bay among others) to the Native Americans who highly prized them for their durability. This kettle is particularly large among survivors and it has its completely original and untouched wonderful patina intact. The rim and the flat handle are completely hand wrought as is the copper body of the kettle. The condition of the kettle is exceptional having survived free of splits and with no repairs only some small denting (most when found are in really battered condition). A wonderful primitive with a great historical association. Item is unconditionally guaranteed as described. Item is fresh to the market from a very old local estate.
