18th Century French FaienceLION INKSTAND [Ecritoire Rocaille -Lion sur des Remparts]Honore SavyFranceFor the condition of this inkstand, see all the pictures below.Note that all the pictures below can be supersized for a closer look.It measures 13 3/4" in length x 10 1/2" in width x 7" in height [34.9 cm x 26.7 cm x 17.8 cm]It weighs 5 pounds and 7.2 ounces [2.47 kg]It has the red fleur de lys mark on the bottom.This is the mark for Fa encerie Honoré Savy.Honoré Savy was the founder of a factory that manufactured faience wares in Marseille, France between 1749 and 1790.The fa encerie started using the fleur de lys mark after 1777, when the brother of King Louis XVI visited the factory and gave it the title of manufacture royale.I noted restoration to the edge of the inkstand and to the top of the helmet inkwell (see last 4 pictures below).I do combine shipping.
