18th Century New England Copper & Maple Bed Warmer is a Spectacular and Early New England Bed Warmer which features Beautiful Wriggle Work in a Folk Art Floral Design on the top of the warmer! This was used to be filled with hot coals and slide between cold sheets to warm the bed during the cold months. It is Circa 1770 to 1790 and has a Spectacular Finely Turned Curly Maple Handle, typical of the New England Craftsmen of the Era. It is in Exceptional Condition having the expected wear to the design on the lid from 100's of years of polishing. the handle is also in exceptional Condition! The interior has been recently painted with a heavy black piant.It measures 42 1/2" long and the round pan is 11 1/2" across and 3 1/2" deep and it weighs 4.2 pounds.
