18TH C WROUGHT IRON "BEEHIVE" STYLE HANGING CANDLE HOLDER LOOM LIGHT CHANDELIER Description: A VERY RARE 18th C American Wrought Iron HANGING CANDLE HOLDER OR LOOM LIGHT WITH THE RARE TWISTED "BEEHIVE" SHAPED CANDLE HOLDER. GREAT OLD UNTOUCHED SURFACE AND CONDITION. A NICE FORM WITH A DOUBLE TWIST DECORATED SHAFT WITH THE VERY BEST DECORATIVE TWISTED CANDLE HOLDER. THE SURFACE IS UNTOUCHED AND THE CONDITION IS PERFECT. Great Shepard's crook hanging hook. These candleholders were made to hang from the ceiling beam and throw light onto the loom. They were also used at desks and throughout the home where you needed portable light. The surface is untouched, uncleaned old quality and patina. Great tool marks throughout. This is a very important piece of American lighting. TWIST DECORATED Wrought Iron LOOM LIGHTS FROM THIS EARLY PERIOD ARE EXTREMELY RARE. A blacksmith's show of expertise.
