The set is composed of scissor-type tongs in different sizes, scalpels of all types, tongs, saws and every kind of tools for surgical operations. Many utensils bear marks and inscriptions engraved in the metal that speak for their origin and quality. The case’s lock has also an engraved inscription that reads BRITISH MADE. Beside it we can see an inlay plate with the manufacturer’s address: Giltspur St. London. The case is very beautiful. Made of solid mahogany wood, it preserves the original brass corner reinforces (two pieces in each corner). It also keeps the metal shutting hooks located on both sides, the original hinge and the key that operates the lock. The wood boasts a warm shiny finish that enhances the lovely golden red tone of the mahogany.
