Antique TINY or miniature jointed teddy bear with a self sure personality and chipper disposition from imaginative carefree adventuring with two companions and retaining his original old surface & condition, as found. New England , 1890 - 1915. Guaranteed old and original; this is not a fake or reproduction. Actual weight 1/4 lbs. 3 1/2" tall by 1 7/8" wide by 1 1/8" thick. Each estate we disperse has single items we find that members of our work team single out as especially attractive to them. Although rarely the best items we find, they are personally coveted so linger to the end to be listed on the chance hope they may be overlooked (?) by our evil "we listed everything" ebay cataloger. As we wrap up the listings for this estate we list these items of which this is one. We found this bear with his companion bear and guardian grandmother doll we are also listing in a drawer of a dressing stand in an upstairs girl's bedroom. Cuddled together protectively in a deteriorating hand knitted scarf, this bear and his companions have spent a century hiding in their drawer. Found by one our lady sleuths, only her bubbly & delighted oratory of discovery exposed her personal covetous interest in the hidden cohorts. But one glance at the trio is needed to denote who is behind any mischief. Although merely a tiny bear... lead out each day by a grandmother doll... this harmlessness dissolves once the hand is let go and an opportunity presented. The tiny child's hands led by this bear furtive imagination created a world of adventure right under the nose of many adults. Perhaps even the church pew on Sunday became a play ground for this bear to sally forth unnoticed with his boon companions after being hidden under the girl's finest coat. No evening in the parlor went by with out small teddy bear promoted naughtiness not noticed. Even when supposed to be sleeping the chances are very good that this bear was the leader of one last run wild before sleep closed the eyes. Very good as found condition. He's all t, clean, no odor and quite fine, as found. Worn fur in all the usual & right places and lightest soiling are his only faults. Right out of the dressing stand drawer, the bear has appropriate surface oxidation, wear and soiling for it's age and from it's old Maine farm residence. Please see photographs.
