A scarce and charming view book of Harrow on the Hill, published about 1900 or perhaps slightly before. Those with an interest in Winston Churchill, who attended Harrow School from 1888-1892, may like to see how Harrow on the Hill and Harrow School looked very shortly after his time there. It contains 29 black & white photographic views on 20 pages (some two or three to a page). The images are just about evenly split between views of the town and of the school and all have printed captions. It is bound in the original printed wrappers. Title: Photographic Views of Harrow-on-the Hill Publisher: F.W. Provost, Gazette Office, Harrow on the Hill The book measures 18.7 x 30 cm. Condition: The staples have rusted away and all the contents are loose. Otherwise internal condition is excellent. The covers are darkened and a little stained with some fraying and creasing at the corners, also split along the spine a little. A fairly straightforward restoration project!
