1900's Rare Diamond TIGER BRAND Full Box Wood Matches Antique full box, 9 packets of Tiger Brand wooden matches made under license by the Diamond Match Co. These matches mark the beginning of the Diamond Match Company. These were the types of matches made by cottage industries before the larger companies started to take over and were able to use machines to make the matchsticks by the millions. These matches represent the last of a changing era and this type of packaging was never to be used again, as the non poisonous matches and book matches were taking over. This is a full un-used box, only opened to take pictures. Each small packet is made out of a pressed paper. The box is of a cardboard type of material but thinner. Each packet contains approximately 100 wooden red tipped matches. Box size is 7" x 4" x 1" The lid of the box has printed in black the Tiger Matches black tiger logo. original green string for tying is intact. The condition is very good to excellent !!!
