1901 ANTIQUE PORTO RICO CHEESEMAKING DAIRY BEEF CATTLE Offered is a most excellent detailed report written over a century ago (Victorian era) about the dairy and cattle business in "Porto Rico". This is an extremely detailed 102-page antique article, disbound from an official U.S. Dept. of Agriculture Annual Report , dated 1901. The article is entitled " The Dairy Industry and Dairy Markets of Porto Rico " and includes 27 full-page photo plates, as well as a full-page map of Porto Rico dated 1901. T are multiple statistical charts included; showing historic production figures, sales, pricing, land values, imports and exports, etc., etc.This report was written by R.A. Pearson, M.S., who was Assistant Chief of the Dairy Division, Bureau of Animal Industry (USDA) more than a century ago. You are bidding on the 74-page article/report and accompanying 28 photo plates only. I have included a photo of the bound volume as it appeared before this article was removed, for your information. Each photo plate is numbered and dated along the top edge, with a brief description beneath the image. Each plate is blank on the reverse. These would make a unique vintage display, framed in pairs or as a collection along with the Map of Porto Rico in 1901.I think you will be well pleased to add this rare, historic information to your research collection. That report, like this one, is extremely detailed and well illustrated, so please have a look. Condition: Good. Pages are complete and still attached to each other (for the most part) via typical stitched binding. A few pages are loose, but all are complete. Binding threads are exposed, and can be clipped easily for separation and removal of pages. Pages have rough edges along spine, from binding. Otherwise, no rips, tears, holes, stains, foxing, odors, markings, etc. Paper is slightly toned common to 108 year old paper, a bit darker at outermost page edges. No chipping or brittle pages. Pages measure 5-3/4" x 9". Note: I generally list Civil War~Victorian~Edwardian era books and items, and will be listing more subjects from this book.
