Up for issue is a complete, antique 16-page issue of the SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN , for February 1, 1902, featuring on its large front cover a series of photographs showing the “Survey Work of the Isthmian Canal Commission Engineers at Nicaragua.” Article inside describes the search for a suitable place to put the “Isthmian Canal,” which eventually became, ten years later, the Panama Canal. Other articles inside concerning tunnel-building, trees and forests of California, and one with three great photographs on “Modeling in Beach Sand,” or sand castle building. Great ads in rear. Issue in good shape with some small tears on the rear opening edge, very light yellowing. Never bound into a volume, which is rare with these old issues, so no holes on the binding. Eminently frameable. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
