First the bad news. T are pits along both sides of the trigger guard. The good news is that all the pits are covered by the stock and not visible when the rifle is assembled. The trigger guard carries a nice medium grey parkerized finish, typical of post-WWII refinishing done by US arsenals. Finish is about 90-95%. T are no dents, gouges or mangled or bent areas; it retains the graceful lines of a 1903 rifle. The finish on the floor plate matches that of the trigger guard. T are no markings, US or otherwise, on the trigger guard itself. T is an R stamped on the inside of the floor plate indicating Remington manufacture. The latch is undamaged & holds the floor plate securely. This very nice, serviceable trigger guard is ready to install & will compliment any WWII era 1903.
