1904 illustrated advertising cover from the Independent Oil Company, Mansfield, Ohio, with #324 2c Louisiana Purchase Expo issue tied by 1904 dated MANSFIELD/OHIO postmark, and with an illustrated ad at left for: "SCHOLL'S AXLE GREASE - HAS THE LONGEST MILEAGE RECORD OF ANY GREASE MADE. INDEPENDENT OIL CO., MANUFACTURERS OF & DEALERS IN OILS OF EVERY DESCRIPTION...", with a great illustration, with a racist stereotype depiction of several Black men and women reacting in terror to their speeding, runaway wagon.
