1905 Antique; The Cripple Creek Strike: Industrial Wars in Colorado; HistoryThe Cripple Creek Strike: History of Industrial Wars in Colorado by Emma Langdon The Great Western Publishing Co. Author was a pro-union employee for the Victor Daily Record, a newspaper published in the Cripple Creek area of Colorado, when the Cripple Creek miners' strike started. An essential account of the opening salvo in the Colorado Labor Wars, with much on the action of the Western Federation of Miners (for whom Langdon would in fact later serve as official publicist). Much of the first edition is reputed to have been destroyed during the National Guard occupation. Hardcover in Very Good Condition: No loose or missing pages, no water damage. No highlighting or underlining. Cover has minor surface wear, spine lightly faded, gilt title scuffed and wearing away. Old prices and gift inscription written inside cover. Small spots of foxing to a few pages. Book looks very presentable. 463 pages, 1905, 8x5.5" k-h-1575 red
