In 1905, George B. Holsinger -- Brethren composer of hymns and 1st music teacher at Bridgewater College in Virginia -- hand-wrote his autobiography in the expectation that it would be published by the Brethren in Elgin, Ill. He never finished it and he died in 1908.This is the original manuscript. Holsinger wrote 90 pages of his life's story in this leather-bound, blank book. The book measures 7.5 x 9.5 inches. The covers are wearing away, but the pages within are in superb condition. None of Holsinger's handwritten pages are affected by tears or other blemishes.BOOK: This manuscript was published in 2018 as "Brethren Composer: The Autobiography of George B. Holsinger." A complimentary copy of this book will accompany the original manuscript.PHOTOS: Included in this listing are three photographs. Two of them, cabinet cards, are exactly the same. This photo was taken by Dean's Studio in Harrisonburg, Va. There is also a, 1874 tintype of Holsinger at the age of 17.
