This auction is for a rare 1905 copper trophy pitcher. It is engraved "Manchester Cup Ekwanok Country Club First President's Cup Tournament Aug.23.26 1905 Losing Sixteen Won By". The bottom has an attached tag that reads "John Frick New York" and it is also marked "Copper and Silver C254". John Frick was evidently an excellent artisan. This hammered copper pitcher is adorned with a solid brass (heavy) rabbit handle that is standing on a ledge peering in. It has a silver "stitch" type decor around the top rim and accenting the spout. The pitcher measures approximately 7 1/4" tall (top of body), 9 1/2" tall (top of rabbit), and 6 3/4" diameter at the base. It dispays beautifully. The only detractions I have found on it are: 1) a spot of solder? on the center front, definitely applied material, I'd guess t was a piece attached at one time, t is nothing on the opposite inside so it's not a repair. 2) ding in the top rim (see picture), it's not noticable from the front or sides but easily seen looking down (probably reparable but I wasn't using pliers on this item!). This piece weighs 3 pounds, nine ounces. Please feel free to email with any questions prior to bidding.
