The complete 10-Volume set is titled, Plutarch's Lives and Writings. Volumes 1-5 are Plutarch's Lives as a complete subset, the translation called Dryden's, corrected from the Greek and revised by A.H. Clough. Volumes 5-10 are Plutarch's Essays and miscellanies, comprising all his works collected under the title of 'Morals'; translated from the Greek by several hands, corrected and revised by William W. Goodwin. This listing is only for Volumes 1-5, Plutarch's Lives. It is copyright 1895 by Little, Brown and Company and then a second time in 1905 by the same company. This "Edition de Grand Luxe" was published by The Colonial Company also in 1905. It is limited to 1000 sets of which this one is 569. THEY ARE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION, with only light outer wear issues to note. Dark blue-green boards with light corner and top/bottom of spine wear, lesser wear to edges, rubbed spine titles. Gilt page tops, rough cut page edges otherwise, no interior marks, clean and solidly bound. All with frontispiece engravings and with 4 additional engravings, all protected by tissues. All have a loose replacement spine label near the back of the book - one shown in listing photo. The books appear virtually unread, and I'm guessing were actually not read. Listing photos show the Table of Contents of each book. From Wikipedia:"Plutarch (/ˈpluːtɑːrk/; Greek: read more
