1907 Porcelain pencil holder or possible toothbrush holder. From the 1907 Priests of Pallas festival in Kansas City. Priests of Pallas was a week long festival held annually in Kansas City from 1887-1912. Festival supporters set out to promote Kansas City as the Athens of the West and to parallel other celebrations such as Marco Gras. Pallas ATHENE was the patroness of the festival and costumes and floats were based loosely on figures from Greek mythology.Overall condition is great for its age. Could use a good cleaning. It measures approximately 8" long and 2" wide and weighs 1.7lbs.
