1908-S $5 MS62 PCGS. The 1908-S half eagle is a low-mintage (82,000 pieces) but high-survival coin issue, likely due to its status near the series inception. This richly lustrous antique-gold example is close to a full strike and offers surfaces suggestive of a finer grade, were it not for two or three abrasions: a tick on the high point of the Indian's cheek and a thin scrape through star 2, and on the reverse in the field back of the eagle's neck. Nonetheless an appealing coin of classic beauty. Grade: 62, Service: PCGS, Service No.: 8512, Issue Date: 1908-S, Mint Mark: S, Denomination: $5
