Original Map done in 1909 titled "PLAN OF PRINCIPAL UINDERGROUND WORKINGS OF BUNKER HILL AND SULLIVAN, LAST CHANCE, AND SIERRA NEVADA MINES, WITH A LONGITUDINAL VERTICAL PROJECTION OF BUNKER HILL AND SULLIVAN MINE". The map is 11 1/4"x 16" with no writing on the back. The image is sharp and clear with easy to read labeling. It is labeled on the upper left hand margin "U.S. Geological Survey" and on the upper right hand margin "Professional Paper No. 62 Pl. XIX". Under the title at the bottom of the page it is labeled "From the maps of the companies". This map accompanied a U.S. Report to Congress from the U.S. Geological Survey- that was limited in both production and distribution. These reports were limited as they went only to members of Congress and other select Government Agencies. The MAP is in EXCELLENT CONDITION. The map has fine detail. T is a note at the lower left hand portion that explains that the mine workings have been simplified and that the slopes of the mines are shown on the map by the shaded areas. Very interesting map for study.
