The image measures 6.25 inches x 8.75 inches laid on artist board measuring 8.75 x 10.25. The mat shown measures 12.25 in x 15.0 in. The burlwood style frame shown is included to the auction winner who can then source their own glazing.In 1910, the 40 illustrations for 'Merry Wives' were featured in an exhibition in Leicester Galleries in London. This illustration is one of the illustrations that would have been in that exhibition.This is one of the best illustrations Thompson did for that work and among the upper echelon of illustrations he did for any of his works.
